The Castleton delivered a great breakfast that truly impressed me. Fresh and tasty, it set a fantastic tone for the day ahead. The shared facilities were adequate. there were enough toilets and showers for the number of rooms. I appreciated having a kettle in the room for tea and coffee, which made my stay comfortable. The room, while a bit small, had clean sheets and a large flat-screen TV, and free WiFi worked well. I did notice the carpets needed a thorough cleaning as they had some lingering smells. The furnishings could also use an update, which I heard is in the works. Though the staff were friendly, managing expectations about the standard of the facilities would be a good idea. Still, for the price paid, I felt it was decent value overall.

Paignton vibes 🌊
Really enjoyed the mini dance floor, ja! Retro vibes made it a jol! Plus, the owner was super friendly—like chatting with a chommie at the bar. The location’s bang on, just a skip away from the beach, could hear the waves crashing from my room. Lekker!
Room was quite small and basic, felt a bit cramped, but for the price, can’t really complain too much.

The room was cozy with essentials, but shared facilities could be improved.

The room was cozy with a good setup, a bed, chair, and a handy kettle for coffee, all sufficient for a solo traveler. I appreciated the hotel's selection of brochures that helped plan my adventures.
The shared facilities were a mixed bag—only one shower and two toilets for many rooms, which could lead to waiting during busy times. The carpets had a noticeable tobacco smell and there was some dust. it could really use a deep clean. The furnishings were starting to show their age, and while it was clean overall, it didn't feel particularly fresh or inviting. Plus, if you're expecting a fancier setup, this isn't the place for you.
